Hi, my name is John. This is my little spot on the world wide web to share stories and thoughts that may be of general interest to you, the reader. I hope you enjoy what I have to say.
I’m currently a student at Marymount University pursuing a BA in English with a secondary teaching certification. Prior to my enrollment at Marymount I was a U.S. Marine for 13 years, worked in the IT field in the area of applications development (primarily for legal information systems) for 9 years, worked in the running specialty industry (read “running bum”) for 5 years, and after 9/11 served in the U.S. Army for 8 years, retiring from active duty in 2012.
I love animals and find I often have to tolerate people (but I guess I love them as well). I should be writing papers for class instead of blogging but this is just a little something to do from time to time that, hopefully, will be of interest to someone, somewhere. If not, at least it may serve to be cathartic.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and, please feel know that any and all comments are greatly appreciated! May all of your days be good days.

Hi John, I wrote you on Twitter. I’m writing an article on Hemingway and I came across an interesting quote from your essay, Rest in Peace (https://commons.marymount.edu/magnificat/rest-in-peace/), that I’m trying to locate. Could you please get in touch? Thanks, Mary Katharine
